DPF, DEF & SCR Diagnosis — Edmonton Heavy Duty
Derated and going nowhere? The load isn't waiting either.
DPF, DEF and SCR faults, forced regens, sensor failures and the derate that put the unit on the shoulder — confirmed on live data before a part gets ordered. Start with the aftertreatment, because a forced regen isn't a repair if the derate comes back at the next load.

Proof of capability
Capability you can check before you commit
OEM-level diagnostics with live aftertreatment data — soot load, differential pressure, NOx and temperature readings, dosing performance — so the fault is confirmed rather than inferred from a code, and the part that gets ordered is the one that failed. Forced and stationary regens performed here, which is one less unit on a deck to somewhere else. Authorized CVIP inspection station and Sennebogen's authorized service provider, working out of a 40,000 sq. ft. Edmonton facility.
What Mach 6 handles
The problems you bring us
Derate & Limp-Mode Root Cause Diagnosis
“Engine derated?”
“The dash says derate. Dispatch says deliver.” Derate and limp-mode conditions traced to a cause, not just a code. The code names a circuit; the cause is often upstream of it. You get the fault, the cause, and a locked number — and if the honest answer is that the unit should be towed rather than driven in, you get that first.
Forced & Stationary DPF Regeneration
“Repeated regen issues?”
“It regens, then it's back in a week.” A regen that has to be repeated is a symptom report, not a service. Forced and stationary regens are performed here — and the soot loading history is read to answer the question the regen does not: why is it filling up this fast. Injector, turbo, EGR and duty-cycle causes all live upstream of the filter.
DPF Cleaning, Service & Replacement Decisions
“Do I clean it or replace it?”
A filter decision made on evidence rather than on what is in stock. Differential pressure, ash versus soot loading and service history decide whether the filter is cleanable, and you see the numbers before you approve either. The replacement cost of a DPF is why this decision deserves a diagnosis, not a guess.
DEF Quality, Dosing & SCR System Repair
“DEF faults returning?”
“It says DEF quality and the tank's full of DEF.” DEF quality, dosing and SCR system work. Contaminated or degraded fluid, a dosing unit that is not delivering, a crystallized injector, or a quality sensor reading correctly on bad fluid — four different repairs behind one message. We test the fluid and the delivery before replacing either.
NOx, Temperature & Pressure Sensor Diagnosis
“Third sensor this year.”
Aftertreatment sensors diagnosed against live data. A NOx sensor that fails repeatedly is often reporting a real condition it is being blamed for. Sensor or system, you will know which — and that answer is the difference between a part and a repair. Faults tied to wiring or connectors run through electrical diagnostics rather than a swapped sensor.
Emissions Fault Diagnosis Before CVIP
“The inspection's due and the lamp is on.”
Authorized CVIP inspection station, so an emissions fault found at inspection becomes a repair and a re-inspection in the same visit wherever parts allow. The inspection paper and the diagnostic record land in the same unit file.

We don't replace parts until we know which one failed
Aftertreatment is the system where parts-swapping does the most damage to a repair bill. A sensor gets replaced, the fault comes back, a dosing unit gets replaced, the fault comes back, and three invoices later nobody has looked upstream at why the filter is loading in the first place. Here the order is fixed: live data first, cause confirmed, then one part. You see the readings the call was made on. That's the difference between a shop that sells you parts and a shop that finds your fault. Root causes that trace back to the engine itself run through diesel engine repair.
The commitments in writing
Two promises. Both in writing.
The Downtime Promise
Inspection results within 48 hours of your scheduled booking — guaranteed. A comprehensive estimate within 24 hours of diagnostic completion. Worst case, that's 72 hours from drop-off to a number you can act on — and you'll hear from us before then, not after. Every unit leaves with a condition report and a digital vehicle inspection you can make decisions from. No surprises. No delays. Just results.
The Estimate Lock
Serial estimating — approve one number, then watch it grow — is one of the top three issues for fleets in this industry. Our Estimate Accuracy & Approval Policy ends it: once approved, your estimate is locked on price and scope. Changing a locked estimate takes manager approval — and nothing changes without yours.
How the process works
Four steps, same order, every time
Same sequence whether it's one unit or a fleet program — that's what makes the 48-hour and 24-hour commitments something we can actually hold.
Call before you move it
Unit, fault code, and whether it is derated or in limp mode. Different faults want different handling, and that call can be the difference between a drive-in and a tow — or a mobile visit if it shouldn't move at all.
We diagnose before we quote
Live data on the aftertreatment system, with photos and readings of what we find. You approve from evidence, not from a phone description.
Your number, inside 24 hours
Parts and labour split out — and where a filter decision is involved, both options with the numbers behind them. Approved means locked; changes take manager approval, and nothing changes without yours.
Back on the road, on the record
Repaired, regenerated and retested under load, and filed to the unit's digital history — including the soot-loading data, so the next fault has a baseline to compare against.

Every job leaves here with a record: what was inspected, what was found, what was approved and what was done. That record is what turns a repair into a maintenance history you can plan against.
FAQs
Questions fleets ask us
Is the unit safe to drive in?
Call 780 440 1723 before you move a derated unit. Different fault conditions want different handling — some units will make it in fine, some shouldn't be driven at all, and the code usually tells us which.
Can you just clear the code?
We can, and it will come back. Clearing buys you a few hours, not a repair — and if the cause is soot loading or a dosing fault, driving on a cleared code makes the next repair bigger. We diagnose the cause first and quote from that.
Why does it keep regenerating?
Frequent regens usually mean the filter is loading faster than it should, and that cause is almost always upstream — injectors, turbo, EGR, or a duty cycle the truck was never spec'd for. Reading the soot-loading history is how we tell which.
Don't take the website's word for it
Ask to see the paper. A real diagnostic summary with the live-data readings behind the call, and a locked estimate — before you commit the truck.
